Gorgeous Barn Wedding in the Hudson Valley

One year ago (this is their anniversary month!) Ben and Liz hosted their gorgeous barn wedding in the Hudson Valley. In fact, it took place at one of our favorite Catskills wedding venues. Working with Ben and Liz was an absolute delight. Their story began when they were introduced by mutual friends at a charming outdoor market gathering. Later, on a hike up a mountain near Dartmouth, where they both attended college, Ben proposed. The answer was YES! Naturally, a gorgeous outdoor setting was the perfect place to make it official. We can’t wait to share it on the blog today.

Gorgeous Outdoor Wedding in the Catskills

Ben and Liz desired a later start time for their wedding ceremony, aiming for a more laid-back schedule and evading the scorching mid-day July heat. To create a relaxed and rustic ambiance, we combined chairs and wooden benches. As for the chuppah, we crafted a design that perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the tree-filled backdrop, incorporating lush greenery and petite trees.

Joyful Cocktail Hour at their Barn Wedding in the Hudson Valley

Do not underestimate the impact of a fun cocktail hour! Given the couple’s goal of having a laid-back celebration, Ben and Liz decided to incorporate their cocktail hour right after the ceremony. Ben and Liz wanted their guests to feel at ease as they celebrated with them throughout the night and this thoughtful transition was a key part of making that happen!

Stunning Barn Wedding in the Hudson Valley

We always love to ask our couples what their “top three” wedding day priorities are. For Ben and Liz, it was design, music, and food. For their barn wedding in the Hudson Valley, we adorned the tables in gorgeous wildflower arrangements and added an abundance of candles to add to the ambiance. Fancy Girl Catering (one of the top caterers in the Hudson Valley) took care of the food (which was delicious!) and 45 Riots  came through with the music. Talk about a dream team! The outcome was perfection.

An Evening to Remember

When we started the planning process with Ben and Liz, they wanted their wedding to have a formal dress code but an informal atmosphere. They wanted to cultivate a relaxed elegance and combine black tie dress with a rustic and outdoorsy environment (embracing both sides of who they are as a couple!). Needless to say – their guests understood the assignment. Everyone looked fantastic and the evening was so much fun for everyone in attendance!
