1. Choose Jewel Tones
As a wedding designer, jewel tones are some of my favorite color palettes to work with. When creating your fall wedding color palette with jewel tones, you want to choose bright and deep colors like emerald green, purple, teal, and fuschia. Gone are the days of choosing one or two colors and using them for everything. And honestly? We are more than happy to flex our design muscles. When working with jewel tones you can mix and match a few different hues and pair them with a neutral (like black or gold!) for a stunning and modern vibe.
2. Look for seasonal inspiration with muted tones of burnt orange, red and yellow.
We always like to consider the seasons when designing a wedding color palette. After all, one of the reasons couples chose to head North and get married in the Hudson Valley is for our beautiful fall season. For couples who are especially inspired by the autumn leaves and pumpkin-spiced lattes, we love working with more traditional fall wedding colors like yellow, burnt orange, and red. A little extra design tip? These fall wedding colors pair perfectly with softer tones like peach and blush.

3. Pair Burgundy with White
Burgundy and blush is a classic fall color combo, but for an elevated alternative, we love to pair burgundy and white. Burgundy is an incredibly versatile color to use: it has the same richness as the jewel tones mentioned above, but can still blend effortlessly against natural fall colors. On top of that, when it comes to your wedding design, white is one of the most underrated neutrals. When white is used intentionally, it can really pop! Especially when paired with a darker hue like burgundy.

4. Choose Traditional Black and White Fall Wedding Colors
Last but not least, when choosing your “fall wedding colors” don’t feel like you need to choose something that feels quintessential autumn. One of the reasons we love the work we do is that we DON’T design all wedding days to look the same. While above you’ll find a few of our favorite wedding color palettes to ring in the fall season with, we also love working with a traditional black and white color palette, and we are always happy to help create something unique to you as well.
