Lundy Farm Wedding Venue: Spring Wedding Inspiration in Hudson Valley

Lundy Farm opened their doors in 2021, and have quickly become one of our favorite Hudson Valley wedding venues. With an intimate indoor space for guest lists of 30 or less, and a gorgeous outdoor space that can accommodate guest lists up to 100, Lundy Farm has been an absolute hit with our couples wanting to keep their guest list smaller. Today, we are going to share some spring wedding inspiration that we pulled together for a styled shoot last year showcasing the space. On top of that, we wanted to leave you feeling inspired for your own Lundy Farm wedding!

As Hudson Valley wedding planners, we often get excited to bring new ideas to our couple’s visions, so when it came to designing this Lundy Farm wedding shoot, we couldn’t wait to get started. With spring on the way in New York’s beautiful Hudson Valley, we designed the space to inspire couples who want to plan an intimate wedding (in a luxurious setting!) without having to travel to a destination far from home. Just two hours from NYC, Hudson Valley truly feels like a world of its own. In our humble opinion anyway!

Imagine this: Your guests join you on the main lawn to have a Friday night welcome picnic, followed by an intimate and luxurious ceremony in the mansion on Saturday. Then, you send them off with a simple brunch and mimosas on Sunday. The entire destination wedding weekend is filled with relaxing yet elegant affairs. If you are looking for a team of wedding planners to help you turn your vision into a reality, you can learn more about working with us here.

Setting the Vibe for A Wedding at Lundy Farm

First, we wanted to really set the scene for a true destination wedding weekend at Lundy Farm. Taking advantage of their getting ready suite, with a stunning lace wedding dress and bridal shoes, we started taking photos of classic “getting ready” wedding details. Above all, one of my favorite details from this shoot is the poem by Sho Writes. We included the letter in the welcome baskets to set the tone for a romantic weekend ahead. Sho Writes really captured the emotion we wanted to convey. On top of that, aesthetically, Marlee Renee Designs created beautiful spring floral stationery which tied everything together beautifully. We love when wedding invitations show your guests that the best is yet to come!

A Welcome Event for your Destination Wedding Weekend

Because we are based in the Hudson Valley, often our couples will plan a welcome event and/or farewell event for their guests traveling upstate. For this shoot, we wanted to create something casual and sweet. We found inspiration from an “outdoor picnic” and created a welcome treat of charcuterie and wine. Can you imagine a better way to set the vibe? Let the wedding festivities begin!

Indoor Wedding Ceremony at Lundy Farm

When designing the ceremony space, we wanted to create something that encouraged couples to think “bigger” when it comes to micro weddings. Just because you have an intimate guest list, does not mean you can’t have all the stunning and luxurious details you dream about. We wanted to take advantage of the stunning indoor space of Lundy Farm. First, we created an asymmetrical floral installation to ground the ceremony space. Thinking big, we brought in an ABUNDANCE of florals. For the color palette, we brought in fun spring shades of pink and coral while grounding the design with the classic white and greenery that has been so popular for the last couple of years. When looking for an indoor wedding venue, lighting can make or break a space. With oversized windows and french doors, Lundy Farm was filled with natural light.

Lundy Farm Wedding Reception Decor

After almost a decade of wedding planning, we know how to flip a ceremony space quickly. First, guests enjoying the Lundy Farm reception could still see and admire the gorgeous ceremony floral statement piece in the background. A piece like this is designed to make a statement, so it made sense to leave it in the spotlight. For the table, we used high pillar candles and low floral centerpieces to create a relaxing, yet elegant setting. As an added touch, Mamie Brougitte Cakes created mini cakes for each seat with the most stunning and luxurious details. Seriously, when planning your micro wedding: the sky is the limit. You can really splurge on special touches with a smaller guest list.

Finally, a mimosa bar for a bon voyage brunch!

We really tried to imagine what a start to finish destination wedding weekend would look (and feel) like at Lundy Farm. Naturally, that meant designing a mimosa brunch send-off! If you are dreaming about a destination wedding weekend, we have TONS of information here on the blog. Lundy Farm is a beautiful wedding venue, but there are truly so many options in the Hudson Valley that are spectacular at hosting you and your guests for the entire weekend. Why limit your wedding to just one day?
